It’s a great feeling to close a year with a major success. In November 2013 refinery Unit - 700 flare was lit back up after 46 days out for a complete upgrade, ahead of schedule and setting a new benchmark.
At its peak, the task required almost 500 people from 12 contractors, working safely in a plinth area of just 4,500 m². Work included replacing the entire underground seawater line, re-tubing heat exchangers, thousands of pipes, new instrumentation to meet HAZOP recommendations, and refurbishing 60 pump sets and 85 heat exchangers, and more. All with no LTIs and ahead of schedule. A great example of the VTTI Way in action.
